Personal Statement My Vision - 856 Words

My mission is to reach my full potential, help guide others to reach their full potential, and to live life to the fullest. My vision is to find a career that I love doing most likely in business and technology and working with people that have the same ambitions as I do to help reach my full potential and to get the most out of life through finishing school, starting my own family, and living without stresses. My plan to accomplish this vision is to make a lot of connections throughout life whether it is through my fraternity, school, or just random people I meet on the streets. I scored a 53 on my personality test for extraversion, I don’t see myself as a very outgoing person, but I am always willing to meet people and make new connections. I also scored a 52 on agreeableness, it is average score, but shows that I am willing to work with people and not really sheltered to my own ideas. I want to graduate Western with my bachelors in marketing and move to a bigger state, thinking California as of right now, and meeting more people and working whatever jobs I can get out there. It will be stressful at times. My neuroticism score is 41 which shows stressful situations is upsetting to me, but I am generally able to get over these stressful situations and get on with my goals. I scored a 6 on my openness to experience which shows that I like to think and plan ahead to reach my goals. I will eventually build up to a career that I will enjoy doing for the rest of my life. This fall semester I interned at Slate PR, a firm that primarily represents actors, producers, and the overall realm of the entertainment industry. It is located fairly close to Penn Station, between the streets of 27th and 28th. Specifically, on 307 7th Avenue, Suite 2401. The internship took place on Monday and Wednesday’s from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. Many tasks varied throughout the internship experience. There are daily tasks and specific tasks for the events team. Daily tasks include handling RSVP lists, pitching, organizing clips, sending packages, running errands on behalf of clients, researching, and finding and compiling contact information. Events responsibilities include handling guest check-in, handling media check-in, escorting talent down the red carpet, and setting up. Daily attire is business casual and events attire is to wear all black with sneakers. Coming to this point in figuring out what kind of steps I want to take towards my career has definitely been a con fusing place. From the age of sixteen I had a drive that I wanted to be involved in business. I went to the University at Buffalo before coming to Hofstra, and I began as a business major. Christian colleges seek not compartmentalize aspects of Christian faith, but incorporate Christianity as a whole in student circle, training students to see all aspects of life as a Christian.
